Visa Trouble

Hallo!,

So yesterday I had to go to the Immigration Office to get my visa extended.

I didn't get it because of ISA's lovely insurance.

When I signed up for that I was told that they would help me, as per what I agreed with GlobaLinks.

So the guy scanned my insurance informatión and found two things wrong with it.
1-It did not list Germany as an approved Country for the insurance.
2- There were no set dates.

So due to this I could not get my visa. The guy wanted me to come back next week, but I could not because I would then be 'illegal'. My visa had an automatic extention to my appointment date, so I needed something then. The guy took pity on me and gave me a paper saying I was legal until May 9th. He really should not have done that, because in Germany's eyes I am 'uninsured'. If I get sick or injured it could come back onto him. Also when I leave Germany I will have to go and deregister myself. This is frusturating because it was my understanding that ISA was to help with this. I blame Jeanne...

On another note midterms are next week for my context courses, and the final for B2 is next week. Then I will start B3. I am very pleased with this because I plan on coming back to Freie Universität for Grad School. They and Humboldt have an all in English masters program for Global Studies. So my German will be better by then hopefully.

I'll be sure to update in a few days

Tschüss!

(Also I apologize for any mispellings or random capitalized words. Gotta love German computers)

Updates for lack of a better title.

Hallo!

1-Just putting it out there, Saturn is utterly useless. The guy who tried to repair my Laptop back in October (yeah the one who jabbed a paperclip into it) ruined it. Zuzana(from ISA) went with me to translate. My German isn't that great to describe technical issues. So when we went the guy denied Saturn ruining it. He said that they know how to treat laptops, and it must be something I did. They also told me to take it up with Samsung.
So we go all the way to Samsung for them to say if it's not my fault then it's Saturns. So I have to email customer service and try to get a refund.

2-German class. So in case it isn't common knowledge, my grammar is a bit...bad. German grammar is complex and on top of it I have also studied two other languages. Sometimes all the grammar rules get scrambled in my head haha. So we had our first test, and I thought I did pretty good on it. The only thing I did not like, is we had just over an hour. I personally need more time for all the writing and correcting but es ist egal. During the break my German teacher comes over and tells me I did really bad. After class she tells me she wants to drop me back and have me repeat B1. Well a few hours later I got my transcript, and I had a B in B1. So I emailed her saying I wanted to stay in B2 as I had a B in B1. I explained that I have trouble with grammar, and I would rather be challenged then take an easy class again. She responded saying I could stay in the class. I even asked her if I could write a few essays a week as practice for grammar. She replied that I could, but she could not correct them. That was fine with me. So on Monday I get pulled out by one of the heads of FU-BEST. She tells me that I really should go to B1 again. Then she asked " What is more important? A good grade or a higher level?"
I'm sorry, but I passed into B2. It was our first test and B2 is very grammar orientated. Dropping into B1 would not help me. I need my grammar and German to be challanged. Retaking a class will not do that for me. I understand they want to help me. However, dropping me to a class I recieved such a good grade in will not do that for me. They keep saying it is my choice, but at the moment I feel very pressured.

3-Weimar! Weimar was so small and pretty. I much prefer Berlin, but Weimar has a certain charm. I'll have to upload pictures. The only thing I did not enjoy was the 3 hour bus ride.

4- Visa. On Monday I should have my Extended Visa. *fingers crossed*

Tschüss!
